When your baby is sitting up confidently on his own, it means he's ready to join you at the dinner table in his own chair, a highchair.
There are lots of different types of highchairs to choose from but the important features are safety and functionality. When you buy a highchair you need to make sure it's both sturdy and clean.

Features to look out for include;

          - Extra padding on the seats.
    - Reclining seats.
    - Adjustable seat heights.
    - Adjustable foot-rest.
    - Removable and easy-to-clean seat cover.
    - Removable tray for easy cleaning.
    - Compact when folded.
    - The highchair should conform to safety standard BS14988.
    - Make sure the chair has a good wide base for full stability.

Types of highchairs;

Portable clip on;
A clip on seat that attaches to the family table.
This option takes up a lot less space, is easily stored away, lets the child feel part of the adult table and costs a lot less than most regular highchairs. On the downside they are not very comfy, particular for younger babies, many are not washable so can get a bit sticky and they do not fit on every table so it's worth a check first.

Cube highchairs;
Once the child has stopped using it as a highchair, the cube separates out into two pieces, a child's chair and a little table. Many are wooden and look more attractive than gaudy plastic, but check for comfort and safety. There are often sharp, hard edges and wood is often harder to keep clean than plastic.

Highchairs without trays;
These are often made of wood so are more aesthetically pleasing. They are usually height adjustable so they can adapt to different table heights and they can be pushed right up to the table .
Some of them convert into chairs for much older children so the large initial layout may be worth it in the long run.
On the downside they are not very padded or comfortable and the lack of tray may be inhibiting if you want your child to get on with colouring etc.
Watch out for safety too. You may need to invest in a harness as there is no tray in front of the child to keep them contained.

Freestanding highchairs with trays;
The advantage of this option include being able to sit directly in front of your child whilst feeding and having a safe, easy to clean space where your child can feed himself.
Many are adjustable, portable and easy to fold away. The downside is that not many of them are particularly pleasing on the eye.
Whilst at 4 months a high chair that reclines is a good idea, by 6 months you'll rarely need it to do so, so think hard about whether this is worth the extra money. They also take up floor space.

Booster seats;
The next stage on from the highchair. These start to be useful around age 2. Usually light and portable, they get toddlers used to eating at the table. Watch out for safety. The seat needs to be well attached to the chair and the child to the seat.

Do I have to be there to sign for delivery?

In all instances, you will be required to provide a signature when your order is delivered. If you are not in when we try to deliver your goods, we will leave a card notifying you of the time we attempted delivery. We will also provide contact details so that you can arrange delivery to an alternate location if preferred. Please note: Our Home Delivery Network service will only accommodate requests from customers who have been carded, where the redirection is to a residential address and within the Depot catchment area.

Can I track my order?

Yes, we offer an online order tracking facility. You will be sent an e-mail acknowledging receipt of your order, shortly after placing it. Please reply to this email requesting your tracking number and our staff will be happy to help! Will you deliver to an alternative address? Yes, we offer an address book facility so that you can have your goods delivered wherever is most convenient for you. You can either access your address book by logging into My Account, or you can add or choose an alternate address at checkout. Can you tell me what time of day? Unfortunately we are unable to give you an exact time for delivery. Refund policy

We hope you will be pleased with your purchase. Should you wish to return anything bought from us, we will be happy to refund or exchange a product provided it is in fully resaleable condition. There will be 10% return fee, which covers restocking. Returns should be made within a reasonable time (10 days) and in original, undamaged packaging.* Please see below for exceptions to this policy. If the product returned is not in fully resaleable condition or the packaging is damaged, we reserve the right to refuse a refund on the item, or deduct up to 20% of the original selling price from the refund amount. Cancellations

To cancel a confirmed order we must receive it in writing and this must be agreed and confirmed by email from a member of staff here.

Delivery charges

We will refund your original delivery charge when a product is faulty or damaged, but not when a product is simply unwanted. *None of the above conditions affect your statutory rights when goods are faulty, or not as described. Your rights of cancellation are covered under the Consumer Protection Distance Selling Regulations.

Damaged Goods

If goods arrived damage you must inform us within 48 hours of Delivery.
